I have been trying to set an appointment there for past 2 weeks. No one ever answers the phone, so I decided to physically go to the salon on a Tuesday at 4:30 and the place is closed. Their hours on their door say they are open till 7pm but the place is closed and there is no sign?

I went to Salon Glam almost a month ago by a recommendation I received that Lindsay might be a good choice to do my hair for my wedding. I needed a haircut and color so I thought it would be a good opportunity to see what she was like. From the moment I called there were issues. I was passed off between 2-3 people during the phone call so the appointment was set wrong with no note that I had a preference in hairdresser or that I wanted a color (not highlight) but had long hair so it may take longer. My appointment was also passed around until they were informed that I did indeed need to meet with the person that was supposed to do my wedding.....I should have just canceled the appointment, but these did not seem like huge issues. When I arrived, Lindsay listened to what I wanted and made it sound like it would be easily achieved. Everyone was pleasant during my time there, although the conversation probably wasn't very appropriate, and was primarily held between the hairdressers, not really with the clients. I noticed that she was foiling my hair and I thought okay, maybe that's the best way to achieve what I want, but then she did not foil at least two inches of my roots. I mentioned it, and she said it would all blend. She left me with my hair foiled for about half an hour to forty-five minutes while she helped someone else. She didn't check to see if it was setting too long. When it was done, I had BRIGHT YELLOW hair, with two inches of brown at the top. She said it was ombre. I had asked specifically that she NOT do ombre and for a caramel color. I could tell she did a bad job, but the lighting was so dark that I didn't know how bad it was at the time. I'm not a confrontational person and I also thought maybe it would look better to me the next day as some coloring jobs have before. The haircut she gave was fine - which is about the only nice thing I can really say. When I went to check out, she charged me almost forty dollars more than I had thought it would cost, and I was supposed to have a new client discount as well. I thought it seemed high but I wanted to get out of there as it had already taken about three hours of my Saturday. By the end of the day, I was almost crying with how much I hated my hair. I had to wash it again when I got home because she had left some sort of oily product not washed out all the way. My previously soft hair was completely bleached and dry. I had to have it fixed the next day by someone I knew, which cost me additional money. I have since tried to call Salon Glam to ask for at least a partial refund and let them know what happened, but each time I have called during business hours, there has been no answer. I am not sure what is wrong with this company, I thought Aveda was an indication of quality, but this is the worst salon I have ever encountered.

Are they closed for good?

I left this review on their Facebook page and minutes after reviews were removed from the page and I was harassed via Messenger by the salon owner on Facebook. Very unprofessional.

I love this place, they are the only people I let cut my hair. I've been going to see Jenna for well over 5 years now and never had a bad experience. I can always contact her and she's very easy to work with and friendly. Now I'm in college and I still only get my hair cut on weekends I can make it home, not to mention that $15 for a men's cut is one of the cheapest around.

I love this place!!! I recently move here from Chicago and it was hard to find a good salon in chicago but when I moved here I was recommended to see Grace and couldn't be more happier. Yesterday I decided to go short with my hair and the cut an highlights were AWESOME I highly recommend Grace she takes her time and does a great job also she is so very friendly and makes me feel comfortable definitely 5 stars!!

I'm going to post before and after photos of my hair that I did end up donating to children with hair loss. I was terrified to begin with to cut off 14 inches of my hair but after the initial cut of all 14" it turned into a horror film when my stylist Grace said "I didn't know how to do the haircut you want" this is AFTER she just cut 5 14" ponytails off my hair and it looked CRAZY!!! (I'm a licensed stylist, just never used it) so at this point I should've left but instead I tried to walk her through the haircut so I didn't leave looking like a total mess. Long story short I left with a uneven haircut on every layer and a "hole" in the haircut on one side. WELCOME TO THE PONYTAIL LIFE!!! I contacted the salon owner and she offered to fix it. I took her up on that offer even though I already felt uncomfortable. To my surprise I was greeted at the salon by the original hairstylist Grace (who had no clients at the time) and had no business being there but to make me feel uncomfortable. Jenna the owner sat me down and looked over the cut to fix it but not before she said "I don't see the hole in you're cut that you sent me" I found that comment insulting as I showed it to her she said "o there it is, we will just blend it" which meant cut one side shorter to fix the angle of the hair cut but leave the other side Longer. I also mentioned that the entire haircut was uneven which was never inspected only "thinned" to "fix" the problem. I would not trust this salon with your hair. I feel stupid for going back to get it fixed because I'm still unhappy and out money for the WORST haircut of my life. Hey at least I'm the joke of the neighborhood till it grows out and I give people something to laugh about. I will definitely be warning everyone about this place. SUPER DISAPPOINTED.
